Refrigeration Technician - Technical Service

About the role

Econova is looking for a high-energy, go-getting Refrigeration Technical Service Assistant to join our National Service team. Based out of our Braeside branch, this dynamic role offers an engaging hybrid split of 80% office-based technical triage and 20% hands-on infield operations.

If you are a trade-qualified HVAC technician or mechanical services professional who loves solving complex diagnostic problems, optimizing service systems, and putting the customer experience first, this is the role you’ve been looking for!

Key responsibilities

• Technical Diagnosis: Problem-solve post-installation HVAC issues over the phone and make key technical calls.
• Urgent Triage: Assess and categorise emergency service requests so they can be dispatched rapidly by scheduling teams.
• Team Upskilling: Develop clear scripts and train call centre staff to accurately diagnose customer issues.
• Infield Action: Head out on-site for emergency changeovers, quality assessments, and subcontractor toolbox talks.

About you

• The Trade: Solid HVAC background with relevant Victorian trade qualifications/compliance knowledge.
• The Expertise: Strong working knowledge of heating, cooling, mechanical maintenance.
• The Mindset: A positive, highly adaptable attitude with a natural ability to exercise sound judgement.
• The Tech: Tech-savvy enough to confidently utilize digital service platforms and ticketing systems to manage customer resolutions.
