Refuse Collection Driver

About the role

Hello Queenstown is seeking a reliable, safety-focused operator to join the team on a regular one-day-per-week basis (currently Mondays – but flexible for the right candidate), working a 9-10hour shift on the refuse collection route. This role has the potential for additional hours during peak periods. This is a physically demanding job - so you must be capable of retrieving and running the bins.

If you're also handy and a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, there may be scope to pick up extra hours helping out with general maintenance across the property portfolio — but the core role and locked down one day is driving.

Key responsibilities

• Operating a refuse collection vehicle on assigned routes
• Completing pre-trip vehicle checks and daily run sheets
• Communicating professionally with operations staff
• Following all WH&S procedures and traffic management requirements
• Assisting with general property maintenance tasks and general handyman work (optional/extra hours)

About you

• MUST HAVE - Current NZ Class 2 (or higher) heavy vehicle licence
• Physically capable of running bins
• Experience driving heavy vehicles; waste industry experience an advantage
• Clean driving record
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Hands-on maintenance skills (advantageous, for those interested in picking up extra hours)
