Reports to: Cape & Coast business leader, with a strong working relationship with the Corporate Controller

Position Summary

The Regional Controller will play a critical leadership role in overseeing the accounting and financial reporting operations for Cape & Coast. This role is responsible for leading the monthly close process, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies, cash management (including oversight of operating cash) and managing the accounting flow between the property management system and ERP.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting leader who can operate in the details while providing appropriate review and oversight of the accounting team. This individual should be comfortable identifying issues at the transactional level, driving them to resolution, and balancing technical accounting expertise with operational partnership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the monthly close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal accounting policies, and established internal controls
• Own the integrity of accounting data and integrations between the ERP system (Sage Intacct) and the PMS (Track)
• Oversee cash accounting and reconciliation, including escrow cash, operating cash, undeposited funds, as well as liquidity monitoring and cash management
• Ensure the complete and accurate recording of revenue, owner activity, advance deposits, owner dueto/from balances, cash activity, fees, and other PMSgenerated transactions from Track into Sage Intacct, with appropriate reconciliation between operational data and the general ledger
• Provide accounting oversight over the owner statement and settlement process, including review of ownerrelated balances, payments, and discrepancies
• Supervise and develop the accounting team, establish clear preparer and reviewer responsibilities, and provide appropriate review and oversight of work performed
• Ensure all material balance sheet reconciliations are prepared, appropriately supported, reviewed, and completed in accordance with the close calendar, with reconciling items clearly identified and resolved on a timely basis
• Partner with crossfunctional teams to resolve accounting issues and support operational initiatives
• Identify opportunities to enhance processes, improve efficiencies, and strengthen controls
• Maintain a strong working knowledge of Track PMS and its accounting configuration to understand how operational activity flows to owner statements and the general ledger and to identify and resolve dataquality or systemrelated accounting issues
• Lead local audit readiness and support audit requests by providing required schedules, documentation, and analysis
• Support monthly financial reviews with FP&A, and corporate leadership, providing clear explanations of financial performance, significant variances, balance sheet matters, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications & Credentials

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful controllership, financial close, or accounting leadership responsibilities
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices
• Demonstrated experience owning a monthly close process, including preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
• Comfortable with identifying and improving control weaknesses
• Thrives in a “rolling up sleeves” environment and comfortable working directly in the data, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues at the transactional level
• Demonstrated ability to identify accounting, process, and control gaps and implement effective remediation
• Proven experience managing and developing team members
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines
• Experience in the travel, hospitality, or property management industry is a plus
• CPA designation preferred
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with large transactional datasets, account reconciliations, and financial
• Track PMS experiences is a plus
• Experience with FloQast or a comparable financial close management and reconciliation platform is a plus
• Sage Intacct experience a plus
• Experience with owner accounting, including owner statements and distributions, preferred
• This position may require approximately 5% travel, primarily to local offices.
• This role requires light physical activity, including sitting, standing, walking, and using a computer for extended periods. Occasional lifting or carrying of items weighing up to 20 pounds may be required.
