The Company

Johns Lyng Group has been established since 1953 and has built a strong reputation for excellence in building and restoration services. The Group has recently expanded into New Zealand, delivering insurance-related emergency and reinstatement works across the country.

Restorx is our specialist restoration division, providing water, fire, biohazard, contents, drying and restoration services following property damage.

The Role

We’re looking for a driven Regional Manager to lead and grow our Restorx operations across Christchurch and the South Island. This is a hands-on role focused on people, customers, operational performance and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations, including job allocation, staff coordination, and resource management.
• Lead, manage and develop regional team.
• Manage relationships with insurers, loss adjusters and key stakeholders
• Monitor job performance, quality, timelines and profitability
• Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations and company standards.
• Manage resources, subcontractors and operational costs
• Identify and implement improvements to regional performance

Financial & Commercial Responsibility

• Monitoring job profitability, margins and overall regional performance
• Understanding and managing regional P&L performance
• Reviewing job costing and identifying areas for improvement
• Ensuring accurate and timely invoicing
• Managing labour, subcontractor and operational costs
• Working with senior leadership on budgets, forecasts and growth planning

Business Growth

• Actively chase and secure new work opportunities
• Develop relationships with key industry stakeholders and referral partners
• Identify new business opportunities across insurance, commercial, government and private sectors
• Grow Restorx's presence and market share across Christchurch
• Work with leadership on regional growth strategies

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in regional or operations management

• Experience in construction, restoration, insurance or emergency works preferred

• Strong leadership and people management skills

• Commercially minded with good financial understanding

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

• Proactive and driven to identify and secure new opportunities

• Ability to perform in a fast-paced, reactive environment

This is a hands-on role for someone who can lead the operation, manage the numbers, build strong relationships and actively grow the business.
