  • Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline through prospecting, cold calling, account visits, and consistent follow-up.
  • Work with channel partners on product assortments, inventory, displays, merchandising, and account growth plans.
  • Deliver product presentations, demonstrations, and training that help distributor and dealer sales teams confidently sell VISTA products.
  • Engage contractors, builders, and other industry professionals to increase product awareness and demand through our channel partners.
  • Represent VISTA at trade shows, dealer events, contractor events, and industry meetings.
  • Collaborate with Marketing on regional promotions, product launches, events, and sales resources.

  • 3–5+ years of progressive sales, business development, territory management, or account management experience, with demonstrated success winning new business and growing accounts.
  • Experience in building materials, construction, outdoor living, decking, railing, fencing, home improvement, or a related industry.
  • Experience selling through distributors, dealers, retailers, or other channel partners.
  • Confidence initiating conversations, making cold calls, presenting products, and following opportunities through to a sale.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • The organization and initiative to manage a large territory independently.
  • An understanding of sales revenue, margins, and customer profitability.
  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel by car and air.
  • Valid passport and ability and willingness to travel to Canada for meetings, training, and other corporate activities.

Preferred : Existing relationships in Western U.S. building materials markets, experience selling manufactured building products, and familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Excel, and sales reporting tools.

Travel Requirements

This is a field-based sales development position requiring significant travel throughout the Western United States. Travel will include customer and dealer visits, distributor meetings, contractor and builder meetings, jobsite visits, trade shows, dealer shows, training events, industry conferences, and corporate meetings.

Travel is expected to average approximately 50–60%, with flexibility required based on customer needs, market-development opportunities, and seasonal business demands.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hunter, relationship builder, and market developer who gets energy from being in the market and creating opportunities—not simply managing an established book of business.

They understand that successful building-material sales are built through relationships across the entire channel: from manufacturer to distributor, dealer, contractor, builder, designer, and ultimately the homeowner.

They are comfortable getting on the road, walking into a prospective account, making cold calls, conducting product demonstrations, developing strategic relationships, and following opportunities through until they produce measurable results.

They combine the persistence required to open new doors with the relationship skills required to turn those opportunities into long-term partnerships.

Most importantly, the successful candidate will bring an entrepreneurial, growth-oriented mindset and take personal ownership of building VISTA’s Western U.S. market presence. They will operate with the mindset that the Western U.S. is their business to build, while leveraging the products, people, systems, brand, and support of VISTA Railing Systems.

Compensation : $90-$100K + up to 25% profit share incentive
