What they need
About Tranzito
Tranzito is a mobility operator specializing in micromobility, curbside management, and multimodal infrastructure for cities. We work with government agencies to help manage transportation programs for the public good -- we operate bike parking rooms and smart bike racks, bus stops, and other transit amenities. We partner with cities and transit agencies, like LADOT and LA Metro, to deploy and operate solutions that make citizens’ lives better and offer practical solutions to climate change. We deploy a systems integration strategy to stitch together off-the-shelf industrial components into a unique configuration.
About the Position
We are looking for a Regional Program Coordinator to support key Los Angeles programs, specifically the Sidewalk and Transit Amenities Program (STAP), LADOT Integrated Mobility Hubs (IMH) and other initiatives. Working closely with the Regional Program Manager, you will help coordinate the day-to-day execution of a complex, multi-agency pilot that integrates physical infrastructure with digital mobility services. This role is a great fit for someone with a foundation in public sector or infrastructure project coordination who wants to grow into program management.
Job Overview
The Regional Program Coordinator will support a diverse set of responsibilities ranging from schedule tracking and documentation to stakeholder coordination and field operations. The role involves a mix of desktop work, time in the field, and client meetings. You will keep regional programs organized and moving, ensuring that physical builds, digital integrations, and operational workflows stay on time and within budget. If you are organized, proactive, and comfortable moving between the office and the field, we encourage you to apply.
Regional Program Coordinator Responsibilities & Duties
Program & Project Management
- Support the Project Management Plan: Support the project’s governance, scope baseline, and delivery framework, ensuring all activities remain consistent with the approved scope, budget, and schedule.
- Schedule & Risk Management: Monitor the project schedule for variances, implement corrective actions for delays, and manage the Risk Register to proactively mitigate permitting, technology, or cost risks.
- Support the Regional Program Manager: Support the Regional Program Manager with tasks on an as-needed basis.
- Support Corporatewide Project Management: Support Tranzito with broad program management of Asana.
Client & Stakeholder Coordination
- Secondary Point of Contact: Serve as the secondary liaison for Los Angeles-based clients.
- Attend and Organize Meetings: Organize, prepare, and conduct minutes for regular and ad-hoc meetings with clients, partners, vendors, and internal.
- Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Facilitate coordination among diverse subcontractors (e.g., design, construction, technology) and third-party mobility partners (e.g., Metro Bike Share, TNCs) to ensure seamless service integration.
Strategic Support
- Strategic Initiatives: Assist the CEO and Regional Program Manager with strategic projects, including drafting RFP responses, creating operations documents, and conducting market research.
Regional Program Coordinator Qualifications & Skills
We are seeking candidates with 3–5 years of relevant experience in project coordination, transportation, public sector programs, or infrastructure.
- Project Coordination: Experience tracking schedules, deliverables, and documentation for public sector or infrastructure projects.
- Operational Awareness: Familiarity with field operations, maintenance workflows, or asset tracking.
- Tool Proficiency: Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Forms, Sites), project management and communication tools such as Asana and Slack; experience with asset management software like Sitetracker is a plus.
- LLM Utilization: Ability to utilize LLMs (Large Language Models) for productivity and drafting.
- Communication Skills: Clear, organized writing and the ability to communicate professionally with agency staff, partners, and field crews.
Attributes
- Critical Thinker: Very smart and inquisitive with high critical thinking abilities.
- Self-Motivated: Driven to work hard independently and produce great quality work.
- Organized: Detail-oriented and reliable at keeping many moving pieces tracked and followed up on.
- Communicator: Great communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with everyone from executives to maintenance staff.
- Passionate: Loves transportation and believes in the greater mission of improving mobility.
What you can expect working at Tranzito:
- Mission-first: We are a self-funded, mission-driven company with people who want to improve mobility and help public agencies wisely use their investments to improve gridlock, boost equity and the environment.
- Positive vibes: We focus on building and maintaining a great work environment where everyone is trusted to work hard and maintain a great attitude, voicing input and opinions is encouraged, professional growth is fostered, and work/life balance is prioritized.
- A startup culture: While founded in 2002 and now with over 70 full-time employees, we retain a startup vibe with a thin executive and administrative team. You will wear many hats and be expected to be hands-on.
