Regional Quality Manager

Scope: Global Quality Team – China (YSZ), Malaysia (MFT) and Thailand

Job Purpose

To oversee and lead the global Quality teams across YSZ, MFT and Thailand, ensuring consistent quality standards, effective quality systems, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement across all manufacturing locations.

This position requires strong hands-on experience in plastic injection molding quality and the ability to communicate effectively with international teams, management, and customers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Oversee and lead the global Quality teams across YSZ, MFT and Thailand, ensuring alignment of quality standards, processes, and objectives across all locations.
2. Develop, implement, and maintain quality strategies, policies, procedures, and quality control systems for plastic injection molding operations.
3. Manage quality performance from incoming materials, injection molding and assembly processes through final inspection and customer delivery.
4. Lead the resolution of customer complaints and major quality issues using structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and Root Cause Analysis.
5. Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and ensure effective implementation and follow-up across relevant sites.
6. Monitor and improve key quality indicators, including customer complaints, PPM, internal defects, scrap, rework, supplier quality, and cost of poor quality.
7. Ensure compliance with applicable Quality Management Systems and customer-specific requirements, including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, where applicable.
8. Lead and support internal, customer, supplier, and certification audits, including follow-up and closure of audit findings.
9. Oversee APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA, and other applicable quality core tools for new and existing products.
10. Work closely with Engineering, Production, Tooling, and Project teams on mold trials (T0/T1/T2), new product introduction, and mass-production readiness.
11. Review and resolve plastic injection molding quality issues, including dimensional, appearance, and molding defects, and coordinate improvements to mold and process conditions.
12. Manage supplier quality performance and drive supplier corrective actions and quality improvement activities where required.
13. Standardize quality practices and share lessons learned and best practices across YSZ, MFT and Thailand.
14. Develop Quality team capability through coaching, training, competency development, and succession planning.
15. Prepare and present quality performance, major issues, risks, and improvement actions to management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Polymer/Plastic Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of Quality experience in manufacturing, including at least 8 years in a Quality management or leadership role.
• Direct experience in a plastic injection molding manufacturing environment is required.
• Experience managing multi-site, regional, or global Quality teams is highly preferred.
• Experience in automotive, electronics, precision plastic components, or other high-quality manufacturing environments is preferred.
