What they need

We are partnering with an international renewable energy technology business to appoint a senior technical professional supporting its Australia and New Zealand markets.

This opportunity suits someone who enjoys working at the intersection of engineering, customer engagement and business development. You will help sales teams and industry partners shape solar and battery storage opportunities, address technical challenges and strengthen the business’s local solution capability.

Job Duties:

  • Shape technical solutions for residential portfolios, commercial installations and distributed energy projects, matching system configurations to customer needs and site conditions.
  • Work alongside sales teams, EPCs, distributors and other project partners through technical discovery, solution presentations and bid preparation.
  • Develop proposals, equipment schedules and technical responses that clearly communicate system performance, suitability and value.
  • Assess compliance considerations and grid connection requirements, identifying technical risks early and coordinating solutions with internal specialists.
  • Act as a senior technical contact for key customers, supporting detailed evaluations, demonstrations and complex solution discussions.
  • Equip sales colleagues and channel partners with practical product knowledge through training, workshops and reusable technical resources.
  • Bring customer feedback, competitor insights and market requirements into discussions with global engineering and product teams.

Job requirements:

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in technical solutions, applications engineering or pre-sales within solar inverters and/or battery energy storage.
  • Strong understanding of inverter and battery integration, including hybrid systems, grid-connected applications and off-grid configurations.
  • Familiarity with Australian and New Zealand electrical standards, product compliance requirements and distributed energy grid connections.
  • A track record of supporting technically complex opportunities, ideally involving commercial solar and storage projects, EPCs or distribution partners.
  • The ability to explain technical concepts clearly, build credibility with customers and coordinate effectively across sales, engineering and product teams.
  • Willingness to travel regularly across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Experience with a global equipment manufacturer, established local industry relationships or exposure to virtual power plant applications would be advantageous.
