Registered BAS Agent / Senior Bookkeeper

You can look at a Xero file, spot what needs attention and turn it into a clear plan. You’re equally comfortable explaining an issue to a business owner and guiding a colleague through the solution.

We’re looking for a registered BAS Agent who brings sound judgment, clear communication and pride in getting the work right.

This could suit an experienced bookkeeper ready for greater ownership, or someone who is working with their own clients independently and is looking to move into a team.

With 25 hours per week and hybrid working between home and our Prospect office, this role offers senior responsibility within a part-time working week.

Work that makes good use of your strengths

Working closely with our Founder and Director, Claudia, you’ll focus on four priorities:

·         Build trusted client relationships. Manage an allocated portfolio, explain issues clearly and keep clients informed about progress and next steps.

·         Bring confidence to BAS reviews. Review supporting records, identify discrepancies and provide constructive feedback that improves the quality of our work.

·         Turn messy Xero files into clear plans. Assess cleanup projects, identify what needs fixing and coordinate tasks and deadlines with the delivery team.

·         Give new clients a strong start. Take the technical handover from Claudia and guide clients through setup or cleanup into ongoing service.

You’ll work alongside colleagues supporting bookkeeping delivery, payroll and administration. As you settle in, you’ll also have opportunities to suggest better processes and share your expertise.

What we’re looking for

You’ll bring:

·         Current BAS Agent registration.

·         Strong Xero skills, including reviewing and resolving bookkeeping issues.

·         Experience managing multiple clients and competing deadlines.

·         Confidence communicating directly with business owners.

·         The ability to research unfamiliar issues, exercise judgment and know when to seek input.

·         A collaborative approach to delegating work and giving useful feedback.

·         Confidence using technology and learning new systems.

Experience in a bookkeeping practice or your own business would be particularly relevant. Allied health or practice management software experience would also be welcome.

You take responsibility, communicate early and stay calm when priorities change. You enjoy working through problems and helping others deliver good work.

A role with room to develop
