Registered Behavior Technician

We are looking for a neuroaffirming caregiver- registered behavior technician, psychology student, intern, etc would be great for this role as would a gifted and talented teacher.

The family is looking for after school care from 12PM until approx 500 PM as well as one weekend day per month for a total of 20-25 hours per week.

This family is looking for someone who understands how to challenge, support and understand an elementary age student who is gifted and autistic. The person needs to be patient and curious, and can support the children while respecting their communication, autonomy, and individual needs. You must understand about persistent drive for autonomy (PDA).

About the Family

The child is a sweet first grader who loves playing indoors.

He particularly enjoys filmmaking, art, and minecraft.

What You'll Be Supporting

The family is looking for someone who can help support:

• Emotional regulation and co-regulation
• Following established routines and supporting transitions
• Supporting the children's curiosity and his lead

This is not a traditional compliance-based behavioral position. The family is looking for someone who understands and embraces a neuroaffirming, low-demand approach.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is:

• A gifted and talented teacher or psych student, behavior therapist, special educator, or similarly qualified professional
• Comfortable working directly with children while also providing caregiving support
• Patient, creative, and genuinely curious about each child's communication style
• A self-starter who can recognize what needs to be done without constant direction
• Comfortable taking initiative and bringing new ideas to the family
• Someone who sees caregiving as an opportunity to build relationships, communication, independence, and confidence
• Must have your own car- parents will reimburse for gas

Total: 20-25 hours/week

Compensation

$50 and up, depending on experience and qualifications.

Pay: From $50.00 per hour
