What they need
Company Description Mighty Kidz Services (MKS) is a trauma-responsive, neurodiversity-affirming organization that supports autistic children and their families through compassionate, evidence-based care. Founded by Lindsay Schmelzel, MKS is built on the belief that meaningful progress happens when children feel safe, understood, and empowered. The team provides Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and related supports through a trauma-assumed lens, honoring each child’s and family’s lived experiences with respect and dignity. MKS emphasizes connection, prioritizing regulation, trust, and relationships before skill acquisition. Headquartered in South Carolina and expanding into North Carolina, the organization grows thoughtfully to meet community needs while maintaining clinical integrity and heart-centered leadership.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Registered Behavior Technician role based in Columbia, SC. The Registered Behavior Technician will implement individualized ABA treatment plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), focusing on skill development, communication, social interaction, and daily living skills. Day-to-day responsibilities include collecting accurate data on client progress, following trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming practices, and supporting regulation and connection during sessions. The role involves collaborating with caregivers and team members, participating in team meetings and training, and maintaining clear documentation in accordance with clinical and regulatory standards. The Registered Behavior Technician will help create safe, supportive environments that promote trust, dignity, and empowerment for children and families.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) credential or eligibility to obtain RBT certification within required timeframe.
- Experience implementing ABA strategies in home, clinic, school, or community settings, preferably with autistic children.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care principles and a commitment to neurodiversity-affirming, family-centered support.
- Strong observation, data collection, and documentation skills, with attention to accuracy and confidentiality.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with children, caregivers, supervisors, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to maintain emotional regulation, use compassionate behavior support strategies, and respond calmly to challenging situations.
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, or a related field is preferred.
- Capacity to work on-site in Columbia, SC, with reliable transportation and the ability to meet physical demands of direct client care.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training, supervision, and professional development aligned with MKS values and practices.
