What they need

Job Overview

Sunflower ABA is looking for independent, caring, fun-loving and supportive people who actually SHOW UP (or at least call/text to cancel with an hour in advance) to join our team as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Be a part of an awesome team that supports each other, works hard and makes positive impact in our clients' life.

This is a PART TIME position (Morning 8 am - 12 pm), which can lead to full time employment.

Why Sunflower ABA?

We are a small, local, minority-owned and female run ABA company located in Overland Park/Lenexa area. (NOT a big-box place, we are totally one of a kind in many ways!)

We have fun. We dedicate ourselves to help our clients improve their lives. We have weekly potlucks. Our boss is generous with food! (We literally had brisket today, for real! And... you will try foods you never heard of!)

What We Need from You

Love working with kids

Know how to have FUN (and be silly!) and build RAPPORT with children and parents

Take direct feedback well (we build each other up!)

Keep up with data collection and documentation

Love to learn new skills

Can SHOW UP to work consistently and reliably (at least let us know BEFORE the day starts that your car breaks down or you are having a migraine, NOT answering our wellness check text an hour later, that is not cool... that is NO CALL NO SHOW!)

Can pass background checks (KBI, driving records, etc.)

Can stand, walk, and move at a brisk pace (or even run, you are running after some really fast kids!)

Can sit, kneel, squat or stoop (may have to sit on floor for 15 minutes or longer at a time)

Can lift and move up to 50 lbs (some kids really enjoy physical play)

Can have normal range of motion in arms, legs, hips, wrists, back, and neck (bonus: quick reflex, it saves lives!)

  • High school diploma or higher (Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred)
  • Active RBT certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire)
  • Experience working with children, especially those with autism or special needs (preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills (communication: text, call, email!!!)
  • Reliable (SHOW UP !!!), patient, and passionate about making a difference

What You Get From Us

Training towards RBT certification (if applicable)

BCBA Supervision (if applicable)

Accrued PTO, holiday pay

Competitive Pay (based on experience, not going to sucker you in with big dollar signs!)

Health Insurance Benefits

Directive, Constructive Feedback

Regular Communication with the team

Supportive, fun, engaging work environment

Weekly BCBA Overlaps on cases

AWESOME TEAM that has your back! Just SHOW UP and see the difference!
