What they need
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)
Partnership Behavior Group (PBG) | Monterey County, CA
Partnership Behavior Group is a small, clinician-owned ABA practice serving young children and families throughout Monterey County. We specialize in early intervention delivered in homes and community settings, with an emphasis on play, natural learning opportunities, and strong partnerships with families.
We're looking for Registered Behavior Technicians who enjoy working with young children and want to develop their clinical skills with close support from experienced BCBAs.
What You'll Do
As an RBT with PBG, you'll work directly with young children under the supervision of a BCBA. You'll:
- Provide individualized, play-based ABA services in homes and community settings
- Implement treatment programs developed by the supervising BCBA
- Create engaging learning opportunities through play and everyday routines
- Support communication, social, play, adaptive, and other meaningful developmental skills
- Collect accurate data and complete session documentation
- Implement behavior support and safety procedures as written
- Communicate regularly with supervising BCBAs
- Work respectfully and collaboratively with caregivers
- Participate in ongoing supervision, training, and professional development
These responsibilities align with PBG's current program design for the RBT role.
What It's Like to Work at PBG
We're intentionally building PBG differently from a large, high-volume ABA provider. Our focus is early intervention, strong clinical support, and services that fit naturally into children's and families' lives.
RBTs receive ongoing supervision, coaching, and training in areas including play-based ABA, naturalistic teaching, NDBIs, and the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). PBG's training model also includes shadowing, competency demonstration, supervisor feedback, protocol and data review, caregiver collaboration, and role-specific clinical development.
We want RBTs to understand why they're doing what they're doing, develop sound clinical judgment within their role, and grow as practitioners.
Qualifications
Required
- Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification through the BACB
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client locations within the assigned service area
- Valid California driver's license and current automobile insurance
- Ability to complete required background screening and clearances
- Ability to actively participate in play-based sessions with young children
- Strong communication, reliability, and professionalism
PBG's current program design requires active RBT certification, required training, background clearance, and competency verification before providing services.
Preferred
- Experience working with young children
- Experience with autistic children or children with other developmental differences
- Experience in early intervention, education, childcare, behavioral health, or a related setting
- College coursework or a degree in psychology, education, child development, behavior analysis, or a related field
Training & Support
New team members participate in structured onboarding and competency-based training. RBTs receive direct supervision, coaching, feedback, and opportunities for continued professional development. PBG's training framework includes ABA/NDBI foundations, data collection, documentation, caregiver collaboration, professional boundaries, assent-aware practice, safety procedures, and role-specific clinical competencies.
Location & Travel
Services are provided primarily in children's homes and community settings throughout Monterey County. Team members should expect local travel between assigned client locations. PBG's existing recruiting materials specify reliable transportation and local travel as requirements.
Who We're Looking For
You may be a particularly good fit for PBG if you enjoy getting on the floor and playing with young children, are curious about how and why children learn, welcome coaching and feedback, and value working alongside families rather than simply delivering a service to them.
You don't need to arrive knowing everything. You do need to be dependable, engaged, willing to learn, and genuinely interested in helping children build skills that matter in everyday life.
