EIDBI Level I Treatment Provider / Behavior Technician

Active Care Center is seeking qualified EIDBI Level I Treatment Providers / Behavior Technicians to provide individualized, person-centered behavioral services to children and young adults in Woodbury and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Services are primarily provided in clients' homes and approved community environments.

About Active Care Center

Active Care Center provides individualized, person-centered Early Intensive Developmental and Behavioral Intervention (EIDBI) services to children and young adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and related conditions.

Our team focuses on helping each client develop meaningful communication, social, adaptive, behavioral, safety, and daily living skills while increasing independence and participation within their home and community.

What You'll Do

As a Level I Treatment Provider, you will work as part of a clinical treatment team under the direction of a Qualified Supervising Professional (QSP) and/or supervising clinician.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Provide individualized EIDBI/ABA intervention in clients' homes and community settings according to each client's Individual Treatment Plan (ITP).
  • Implement behavior-analytic and developmental treatment protocols as written and clinically directed.
  • Teach functional communication, social, play, adaptive, self-care, safety, emotional regulation, and other individualized skills.
  • Implement behavior support and behavior intervention protocols designed to reduce interfering behavior and teach appropriate replacement skills.
  • Collect accurate treatment data and document client responses throughout sessions.
  • Complete required clinical documentation accurately and within established timelines.
  • Use reinforcement, prompting, shaping, modeling, natural environment teaching, task analysis, and other evidence-based teaching strategies as directed by the client's treatment plan.
  • Promote generalization of skills across people, activities, environments, and settings.
  • Maintain client dignity, privacy, safety, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Communicate professionally with caregivers, supervising clinicians, and other members of the treatment team.
  • Participate in intervention observation and direction, training, team meetings, and clinical supervision.
  • Follow Active Care Center policies, Minnesota EIDBI requirements, mandated reporting requirements, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Travel to clients' homes and approved community locations within assigned service areas.

Depending on qualifications, assigned responsibilities, and clinical direction, Level I providers may also participate in:

  • Treatment planning
  • Progress monitoring
  • Caregiver training
  • Clinical observation and direction
  • Coordination of care

Responsibilities will remain consistent with Minnesota EIDBI requirements and the provider's scope of practice.

Minimum Qualifications — Level I

Applicants must qualify as a Minnesota EIDBI Level I Treatment Provider under Minnesota Statutes §256B.0949.

A Level I provider must meet applicable Minnesota DHS requirements, including at least 2,000 hours of supervised clinical experience or training examining or treating individuals with ASD or a related condition, qualifying graduate coursework, or an allowable combination of experience and coursework, as applicable to the individual's qualification pathway.

Applicants must also meet at least one qualifying education or certification pathway.

Qualifying pathways may include:

  • Master's degree in behavioral health, child development, mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, occupational therapy, or another qualifying related field;
  • Bachelor's degree in a qualifying behavioral health, child development, or related field plus an advanced certification in a treatment modality recognized by DHS;
  • Current BCBA or another qualifying advanced behavior-analytic credential;
  • BCaBA with the required supervised clinical experience;
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with the required early-intervention clinical experience and EIDBI training; or
  • Current enrollment in or completion of a qualifying master's degree program with required clinical observation and direction while completing the required experience.

Not sure whether your education or experience qualifies? We encourage you to apply. Active Care Center will review your education, certifications, coursework, and relevant clinical experience to determine whether you meet Minnesota EIDBI provider requirements.

Additional Employment Requirements

Candidates must:

  • Be able to successfully complete the required Minnesota DHS NETStudy 2.0 background study and receive an eligible or set-aside determination before providing direct EIDBI services.
  • Provide documentation necessary to verify education, degrees, certifications, and relevant clinical experience.
  • Complete required EIDBI and Active Care Center orientation and training.
  • Maintain required professional credentials and certifications, when applicable.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and applicable privacy requirements.
  • Demonstrate professional and ethical conduct while working independently in clients' homes.
  • Be able to reliably travel to assigned clients in Woodbury, Minneapolis, and surrounding approved service areas.
  • Have reliable transportation and maintain any required driver's license and insurance documentation when driving is necessary for assigned duties.
  • Be comfortable working directly with children and young adults who may display challenging behavior, including aggression, self-injury, elopement, property destruction, or other unsafe behavior.
  • Be able to safely perform the physical responsibilities necessary to provide individualized behavioral services in home and community environments, with reasonable accommodation when applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

We especially encourage applicants with:

  • Previous ABA or EIDBI experience.
  • Experience working with children or adolescents with autism or developmental disabilities.
  • BCBA, BCaBA, RBT, QASP-S, ABAT, or related credentials.
  • Experience providing in-home behavioral services.
  • Experience implementing behavior intervention plans and skill-acquisition programs.
  • Experience collecting and documenting behavioral data.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills with children and families.
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse families.

What We're Looking For

Because this is primarily an in-home position, successful providers must be able to work independently while remaining closely connected with the clinical team.

Strong candidates are dependable, compassionate, receptive to clinical feedback, comfortable implementing structured treatment protocols, and able to maintain appropriate professional boundaries while developing positive relationships with clients and caregivers.

At Active Care Center, effective ABA treatment is more than simply completing programs. Treatment should be individualized, respectful, engaging, and focused on skills that meaningfully improve each client's daily life.

Scheduling is based on client treatment needs and provider availability.
