Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics with precision and care.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
• Take high-quality dental x-rays and medical imaging while adhering to HIPAA regulations and radiation safety protocols.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with clinical confidentiality policies.
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient comfort throughout treatment sessions, providing excellent patient care and managing patient management software efficiently.
• Support dental sterilization procedures and infection control practices to maintain a safe clinical environment aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards.
• Collaborate seamlessly with the dental team using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize workflow and enhance patient experience.

Requirements

• Valid license or certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, or prosthodontics.
• Proficiency in dental assisting tasks including chairside assisting, dental instrument processing, dental x-ray techniques, and dental equipment operation.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical terminology, and medical documentation practices.
• Experience with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; familiarity with patient management software is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated understanding of infection control protocols including aseptic technique and healthcare infection prevention standards.
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining safety standards; experience with 3D scanners is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist when interacting with patients and team members; ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently.
• Commitment to clinical confidentiality policies and maintaining high standards of medical records management.

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
