Registered Dental Assistant

Job Overview

We’re looking for a motivated professional Dental Assistant to join our team. We are located in Pickering, ON. Tuesdays 11:30am to 8pm and 2 Saturdays a month 9am to 2pm.

Candidate must be HARP certified.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
• Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments, materials, and supplies, maintaining aseptic techniques and adhering to infection control protocols.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring accurate medical imaging for diagnosis.
• Provide comprehensive chairside assistance using four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures.
• Assist with dental terminology explanations to help patients understand their treatments clearly.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment following infection control standards and OSHA regulations.
• Stay current with advancements in dental technology and procedures to continually improve service quality.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting, with familiarity in general dentistry practices.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques essential for effective support roles.
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills as a dental assistant and receptionist combined—able to deliver compassionate care while managing administrative tasks efficiently.
