Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, and prosthodontics.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment according to infection prevention management protocols.
• Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans while adhering to dental x-ray safety standards and aseptic techniques.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform chairside assisting duties including taking vital signs, medical documentation, and explaining procedures to patients to enhance their understanding and comfort.
• Support patient care by managing appointment scheduling, patient management software, and ensuring clinical confidentiality policies are followed at all times.
• Maintain dental equipment functionality through routine inspection and troubleshooting of dental instruments and medical imaging devices.
• Uphold healthcare infection prevention and control standards through proper sterilization procedures and infection control practices aligned with industry guidelines.
• Collaborate with the dental team in four-handed dentistry techniques for efficient workflow during clinical procedures.
• Assist with oral surgery procedures, prosthodontics preparations, endodontic treatments, and pediatric dentistry cases as needed.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental clinic setting with familiarity in general dentistry procedures.
• Hands-on experience with dental sterilization procedures, infection prevention management, and aseptic techniques.
• Proficiency in using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for medical documentation and records management.
• Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and medical imaging techniques including X-ray technology.
• Experience supporting pediatric dentistry or working within clinics that serve pediatric patients is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of healthcare infection control policies and clinical confidentiality requirements under HIPAA regulations.
• Ability to perform X-ray imaging accurately while maintaining safety standards for patients and staff.

Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
