Registered Dental Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our surgical team. In this role, you will provide exceptional chairside surgical assistance, ensure smooth clinical operations, and deliver outstanding patient care. Your expertise in oral surgery procedures, infection control, and patient management will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and cared for. Responsibilities

• Assist oral surgeon during a variety of surgical procedures including wisdom teeth removal, implant placement, biopsy and treatment of pathologic lesions, management and care of patients under anesthesia, and many more procedures.
• Assist in new patient consultations by obtaining and verifying medical history, medications, allergies, chief complaint, and assisting oral surgeon with medical charting and treatment presentation.
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary surgical equipment, and ensuring all clinical supplies are stocked and ready.
• Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to strict radiation safety protocols and maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform vital signs assessments and medical imaging to support comprehensive patient evaluations.
• Process dental instruments according to sterilization procedures, infection prevention standards, and aseptic techniques to maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and upcoming procedures to foster trust and understanding.

Requirements

• Valid certification as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent licensure in your region.
• Valid Dental Assistant Radiology Certificate
• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in chairside assisting and dental terminology.
• Strong knowledge of dental equipment, including 3D scanners, dental x-ray machines, and other clinical tools used in general dentistry and pediatric dentistry.
• Familiarity with dental software for patient management and medical documentation.
• Expertise in infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
• Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while maintaining patient safety standards.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members including dental receptionists and hygienists.
• Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices is preferred but not required; experience with medical records management is highly valued.
