Position Overview:

Dental Assistants at Dental Care play a vital role in supporting our dentists, ensuring smooth patient flow, and creating a positive experience for every individual who enters the practice. You help keep the back office running efficiently by preparing operatories, anticipating provider needs, staying proactive during procedures, and contributing to a clean, organized, and supportive clinical environment.

You are often the team member patients feel most comfortable with - someone who builds trust, brings calm to busy moments, and ensures each patient understands their care. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a team-first mindset. Our goal at Bravere Dental Care is to provide timely, compassionate, community-based care, and our Dental Assistants are key partners in achieving that mission.

Key Responsibilities:

Chairside Assistance & Clinical Support

Provide chairside assistance for all dental procedures, including exams, fillings, extractions, crowns, and other treatments.

Anticipate and support the dentist’s needs to ensure efficient, seamless care.

Take dental radiographs (x-rays) and intraoral photos in accordance with Arkansas Dental Practice Act requirements.

Prepare treatment rooms by setting up trays, instruments, and materials before each patient.

Mix dental materials, manage instruments, and perform allowable procedures under Arkansas scope of practice.

Document accurate treatment notes and services rendered in the patient record.

Escort patients to and from the operatory and provide clear postoperative instructions.

Monitor patient flow and communicate with the team to keep the schedule running on time.

Patient Management

Greet patients, monitor arrival times, and ensure they feel welcomed and supported.

Review and update patient health histories in accordance with office and state protocols.

Help patients feel comfortable, answer questions, and ensure they understand their care plan.

Chart patient treatment and support accurate, complete documentation.

Notify the appropriate team member if follow-up is recommended after an appointment.

Treatment Room Management & Sterilization

Keep operatories clean, stocked, and organized at all times.

Clean and disinfect treatment rooms following OSHA and CDC guidelines.

Sterilize instruments and handpieces according to OSHA and office protocols.

Maintain sterilization logs and ensure compliance with documentation requirements.

Manage dental laboratory cases, including sending, receiving, and tracking.

Maintain equipment through scheduled preventative maintenance and ensure emergency kits and nitrous/oxygen tanks are ready for use.

Records Management

Securely store & manage patient records in compliance with HIPAA and Arkansas regulations.

File patient information, radiographs, and charts accurately.

Prepare charts for upcoming appointments and assist with referral and lab tracking.

Support administration of the recall system as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential with the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners or eligibility to obtain registration within the required timeframe, (30 days of hire).

Any additional permit required by ASBDE

Ability to adhere to OSHA, CDC, HIPAA, and Arkansas infection-control requirements.
