Duties

• Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management and aseptic techniques.
• Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical and dental records, taking vital signs, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
• Operate patient management software (Oryx) to document health records accurately while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies. Experience with Oryx is preferred but not required.
• Support dental procedures with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient care quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards and dental sterilization procedures.
• Assist with dental equipment troubleshooting, including 3D scanners and other advanced imaging tools.
• Collaborate with team members including dental receptionists to ensure seamless patient scheduling and communication.

Qualifications

• Valid registration as a Dental Assistant with current certification/license in accordance with local regulations.
• Proven experience in dental assisting within a general dentistry or specialized practice such as pediatric dentistry or oral surgery preferred.
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical procedures.
• Proficiency with dental software such as Oryx, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Open Dental.
• Familiarity with X-ray techniques, dental x-ray safety protocols, and digital imaging technology including 3D scanners.
• Knowledge of infection prevention management, sterilization procedures, aseptic technique, and healthcare infection control standards.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of diverse backgrounds while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
• Ability to follow clinical confidentiality policies diligently while managing sensitive medical documentation and records.
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail in chairside assisting tasks such as vital signs collection and instrument processing.

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
