Duties

• Assist dentists during a wide range of procedures including restorative, prosthodontic, endodontic, and pediatric treatments with precision and confidence
• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary supplies following strict infection control protocols and aseptic techniques
• Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced medical imaging equipment such as 3D scanners and traditional radiography tools while ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, and other EMR platforms to accurately document patient information, treatment plans, and medical histories in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Perform vital signs assessments and monitor patient comfort throughout procedures to ensure safety and well-being
• Support administrative tasks such as greeting patients as a dental receptionist, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining organized medical documentation and records
• Educate patients on dental terminology, post-treatment care instructions, and preventive practices to promote oral health awareness

Requirements

• Valid license as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or equivalent certification in accordance with state or regional licensing boards
• Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with proficiency in general dentistry procedures
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms for medical documentation and records management
• Ability to perform dental X-ray procedures safely while adhering to radiation safety guidelines
• Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry cases is highly desirable
• Knowledge of medical terminology related to dentistry and pediatrics for accurate documentation
• Skilled in chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry for efficiency and patient comfort
• Competence in taking vital signs and understanding medical imaging processes for comprehensive patient care
