What they need
Registered Dietitian
Toi Manawa Alliance | Whakatāne
1.0FTE
Make a real difference in the health and wellbeing of whānau across the Eastern Bay of Plenty.
Toi Manawa Alliance is seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Dietitian to join our Community Health Team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver nutrition services that improve health outcomes for whānau while working alongside General Practice, community providers, iwi, and other health sector partners.
As part of our integrated wraparound model of care, you will work directly with individuals, families, children and youth, providing nutrition assessment, education, support, and health promotion initiatives that create lasting positive change.
About the Role
You will:
- Deliver dietetic services to improve health outcomes for whānau across Te Moana a Toi.
- Manage referrals from General Practice and community providers in a timely manner.
- Support those of all ages to have a more balanced and healthy dietary intake and lifestyle.
- Provide one-on-one nutrition assessment, education and intervention.
- Design and facilitate group education sessions and workshops.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and community stakeholders.
- Contribute to health promotion initiatives at both individual and population levels.
- Support service monitoring, evaluation, reporting and achievement of programme targets.
- Work with Māori and Pacific communities and organisations to improve health equity and access to services.
About You
You're a confident and compassionate Dietitian who thrives on building genuine relationships and helping people make sustainable changes to improve their health and wellbeing. You enjoy working alongside whānau, understanding their unique circumstances, and providing practical, culturally responsive nutrition support that empowers them to achieve their goals.
You bring experience working independently while also valuing the strength of a collaborative team. Whether you're supporting a child and their family, facilitating a group education session, or partnering with General Practice and community providers, you're able to communicate effectively, engage people from diverse backgrounds, and build trust quickly.
You'll be a registered Dietitian with a current New Zealand Practicing Certificate and at least two years' experience delivering dietetic services, ideally with experience supporting children and young people. You are organised, self-motivated, and comfortable managing your own caseload while contributing to wider service objectives and health outcomes.
Most importantly, you'll have a genuine passion for improving community health and reducing inequities. An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, a willingness to work closely with Māori and Pacific communities, and a commitment to delivering equitable, people-centred care will see you thrive in this role.
If you're looking for a role where you can make a meaningful difference every day while being part of a supportive, purpose-driven team, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply via SEEK today or contact [email protected] for more information.
Applications close Friday 28th August 2026.
Applications will be reviewed as they are received and the role may close earlier if the right applicant is identified.
