You will be working across a varied mix of residential, commercial, industrial, and specialized electrical systems throughout Central Otago. While we handle standard electrical work, industrial experience (e.g. motor controls, fault-finding, heavy plant, pump stations, or automation) is a distinct advantage. We also design, install, and service fire alarm and fire protection systems. We actively encourage our team members to broaden their technical skills, offering opportunities for training, development, and cross-skilling into fire alarm systems and specialized electrical fields.

- Installation, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
- Installation, wiring, and testing of fire detection, emergency lighting, and fire alarm systems (NZS 4512 standards).
- Fault-finding, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance on machinery, control panels, and automation setups.
- Ensuring all work complies with New Zealand Electrical Codes of Practice (NZECP), Building Code requirements, and safety standards.
- Interacting directly with clients and main contractors to deliver projects safely and on time.
- Mentoring and assisting with the guidance of apprentices.
About you
- NZ Electrical Registration (EWRB) with a current Practicing Licence.
- Proven experience as a qualified electrician.
- Industrial electrical knowledge/experience (highly regarded).
- Experience with (or a strong willingness to learn) fire alarm systems and fire compliance.
- Adaptable mindset with an eagerness to learn new tech, diversify skills, and expand into related service areas.
- Clean, full New Zealand driver's licence.
- Strong commitment to health & safety and excellent communication skills.
- Legal right to live and work in New Zealand.
Benefits
- Competitive Pay Rate: Negotiable based on experience.
- Benefits for upskilling eg Electrical Inspector.
- Fully stickered company vehicle / work ute + fuel card.
- Company mobile phone / allowance and tool allowance.
- Opportunities for Skill Diversification: Support and pathway training toward Fire Alarm Technician certifications / Level 4 qualifications.
- Diverse, non-repetitive workload across Central Otago.
- Great company culture, supportive team, and a healthy work-life balance.
