What they need
Lead a home where a child feels safe, heard and valued.
Cedar Rose Homes is looking for an experienced, compassionate Registered Manager to lead our solo children's home in Gainsborough. Caring for one child means truly individual, child centred care, and you will lead a dedicated team of carers to make that happen. If you believe every child deserves strong roots and a bright future, we would love to hear from you.
About the role
As Registered Manager, you will be registered with Ofsted and responsible for the day to day leadership of the home. You will make sure the child in our care receives safe, nurturing, high quality care that is built entirely around their needs and helps them make progress and achieve positive outcomes.
What you'll do
Lead day to day care so the child feels settled, secure and able to thrive
Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, working closely with local authorities, police and the LADO
Ensure the home meets the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards, and is inspection ready at all times
Recruit, supervise and develop a skilled, stable team of carers in line with safer recruitment practice
Champion the child's education, health, emotional wellbeing and family time
Lead referrals, matching and admissions, making sure the home can meet the child's needs
Build strong partnerships with social workers, schools, health professionals and commissioners
Oversee quality assurance, including Regulation 44 and 45 reports and home development planning
Manage the home's budget and health and safety compliance
What you'll bring
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or equivalent, or a commitment to achieve it within three years of registration
Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
At least two years' experience working with children in a residential setting within the last five years
At least one year's experience supervising and managing a care team
Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and the Ofsted inspection framework
A calm, trauma informed and relationship based approach to leadership
Excellent communication and report writing skills
A full UK driving licence
Desirable
Experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager of a children's home
Experience of opening or registering a new children's home
What we offer
Generous annual leave
A paid day off for your birthday
Generous bonus scheme
Employee Assistance Programme
Help shape the values of the home with our Responsible Individual and Director
Regular supervision and hands on support from an experienced Responsible Individual
A real focus on your professional development
