Registered Manager – Ayla House, Loughborough

Roots Healthcare is opening Ayla House, a new Ofsted-registered solo children's home in Loughborough for one young person aged 6 to 16 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. We are looking for an experienced, child-centred Registered Manager to lead the home from the start and build a small, stable, well-trained team around one child.

Pay and benefits

• £60,000 base salary a year (based on experience)
• On-call payments, a sign-on bonus and a performance bonus – total package up to £70,000
• Fully funded Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (if not already held)

What you will do

• Lead the day-to-day running of Ayla House and be the Registered Manager with Ofsted
• Make sure the home meets the Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards at all times
• Recruit, supervise, train and support the staff team
• Build warm, trauma-informed care around the young person's plan, working closely with social workers, schools, health professionals and families
• Lead on safeguarding, risk assessments, placement planning and record keeping
• Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections and Regulation 44 visits, and act on what they find

What we are looking for

• At least 3 years of experience in children's residential care, including time as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager
• Experience supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to complete it (we fund it)
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted requirements and safeguarding
• Calm, consistent leadership and a genuine commitment to improving children's lives
• Ability to pass an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
• Must be located within commutable distance of Loughborough
