What they need

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, and patient-centered nursing care across a variety of healthcare settings throughout California. Assignments may include, but are not limited to, acute care hospitals, community hospitals, specialty hospitals, critical access hospitals, urgent care centers, outpatient facilities, and other licensed healthcare facilities as assigned. The RN is employed by the staffing agency and works on a contracted basis, delivering care in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and applicable state and federal regulations.

The RN is expected to perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, monitor patient responses, and intervene appropriately to ensure patient safety and positive clinical outcomes. The nurse must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to different clinical environments, workflows, and patient populations while maintaining professionalism, compassion, and compliance at all times.

This position description outlines the essential functions of the role to provide employees, agency leadership, Human Resources, applicants, and regulatory agencies with a clear understanding of the position’s scope and expectations. As healthcare practices and facility needs evolve, responsibilities may change. The staffing agency will provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals who can perform the essential functions of the role, with or without accommodation.

  • Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California is required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of recent nursing experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Additional certifications (such as ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, or specialty-specific certifications) may be required depending on the assigned facility, department, and patient population.
  • Ability to provide safe, competent nursing care in various healthcare environments, including hospitals, urgent care centers, outpatient facilities, and other licensed healthcare settings.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families.
  • Proficiency in documenting patient care accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems used by assigned facilities.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the role, adhere to infection-control and safety standards, and comply with all agency and facility policies and procedures.
