Job Overview

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform personalized care plans.
• Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusions and medication management, adhering strictly to aseptic techniques and HIPAA regulations.
• Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding, and wound care, ensuring sterile techniques and proper documentation.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and patient records management.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for case management, discharge planning, and long-term care strategies tailored to individual needs.
• Conduct triage assessments in urgent or emergency situations, prioritizing patient needs in fast-paced environments like emergency rooms or urgent care clinics.
• Support diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities, memory care patients, and those requiring hospice or palliative medicine services.

Experience

• Proven experience working as a Registered Nurse in hospital settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or critical care units like ICU or PICU.
• Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or similar platforms; experience with ICD-9/10 coding is preferred.
• Strong background in acute pain management, infectious disease care, trauma medicine, and emergency response procedures.
• Experience providing specialized care such as dialysis, cardiology (including cardiac catheterization), neurovascular procedures like spinal taps or sonography.
• Familiarity with long-term care environments such as nursing homes or assisted living facilities; experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia is highly valued.
• Knowledge of infection control protocols and sterile processing techniques; competence in laboratory specimen collection and processing is advantageous.
• Additional qualifications include basic life support (BLS), advanced cardiac life support (ACLS), neonatal resuscitation procedures (NRP), and other relevant certifications that enhance clinical expertise.
