Registered Nurse

About the role

This position exists to support the Little Sisters of the Poor in their mission of caring for the elderly and to provide the delivery of quality nursing and patient care for the residents. We are looking for a motivated, compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. This is a permanent part-time role – 4 shifts a week (mix of AM, PM & night).

Key responsibilities

• Responsibility for the delivery of Nursing care
• Works in a manner to meet all ethical and professional requirements that relate to clinical practice standards
• Understands and works within the policies and procedures of St Joseph's Home
• Supervises, orientates coaches and evaluates Enrolled Nurses and Caregivers, and to participate in their performance feedback
• Participates in facility wide quality improvement programs
• Takes responsibility for own development and continuing education to improve knowledge and skills

About you

• NZRN, Registered Comprehensive Nurse
• Current NZ practising certificate
• Be prepared to work rostered shifts including Saturdays and weeknights
• Legally entitled to work in New Zealand
• Demonstrated well developed written and oral communication in English
• Demonstrated ability to work within multidisciplinary team
• Problem solving
• Genuine interest in the care of the elderly

St Joseph's Rest Home & Hospital is a small, modern, purpose-built rest home and hospital in a beautiful setting.
