Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews using advanced physiology knowledge.
• Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform catheter care with aseptic technique to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Manage complex clinical procedures such as suturing, tube feeding, ventilator management, and wound care across various specialties including ICU, trauma medicine, and pediatrics.
• Utilize EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation and coding (ICD-9/10, CPT).
• Perform diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and interpret diagnostic results to inform treatment plans.
• Provide patient education on health coaching topics such as chronic disease management, geriatrics, hospice & palliative medicine, and behavioral health support.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and compliance with NCQA standards for quality assurance.

Experience

• Proven critical care experience in ICU or Level I/II trauma centers with familiarity in trauma medicine and acute pain management.
• Experience working within hospital medicine or emergency medicine environments with proficiency in airway management and ventilator support.
• Skilled in managing diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
• Demonstrated ability to work with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with ICD coding (ICD-9/10), CPT coding; and laboratory experience preferred.
• Prior long-term care or nursing home experience involving memory care or assisted living settings is highly valued.
• Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law and experience in occupational health or urgent care settings is advantageous.
• Strong background in infection control practices, aseptic techniques, and sterile processing procedures necessary for safe patient outcomes.
