About the role

Shalom Court Boutique Home & Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team in St Johns, Auckland. This is a full-time position offering a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our aged care residents. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care within our boutique aged care setting, where personalised attention and clinical excellence are at the heart of everything we do.

What you'll be doing

• Providing direct nursing care to residents, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care plans
• Administering medications safely and accurately, maintaining detailed medication records and adhering to all relevant protocols
• Performing clinical observations and procedures, including monitoring vital signs, wound care and catheter management
• Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop and review individualised care plans that meet each resident's specific needs
• Communicating effectively with residents, families and care staff to ensure continuity of care and family involvement
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date resident records and health documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Supporting and mentoring care staff, providing guidance on best practice aged care nursing
• Contributing to a safe and therapeutic environment that promotes residents' dignity, independence and wellbeing
• Identifying and responding promptly to changes in residents' health status and reporting concerns to senior staff
• Upholding infection prevention and control standards, health and safety protocols and professional standards of practice

What we're looking for

• Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse
• Proven experience working in aged care or similar healthcare settings
• Strong clinical knowledge and competence in assessment, care planning and nursing interventions relevant to older adults
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents and their families
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support care staff in delivering quality care
• Sound organisational skills and attention to detail, particularly in documentation and record keeping
• Commitment to maintaining professional standards and continuing professional development
• A compassionate, person-centered approach to aged care nursing
• Current first aid qualifications and competency in relevant clinical skills are highly desirable
• Flexibility to ensure we have adequate support across all our shifts 24/7
