Duties

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine care needs.
• Administer medications, injections, IV infusions, and perform suturing using aseptic techniques while adhering to HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
• Manage complex cases such as trauma medicine, ICU (Intensive Care Unit) and PICU (Pediatric ICU) scenarios, ensuring optimal airway management and ventilator support.
• Coordinate diagnostic evaluations including laboratory tests, radiology procedures like sonography and mammography, and specimen collection/processing for accurate diagnosis.
• Provide specialized care for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal patients, individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
• Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner to document patient care activities accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA standards.
• Support discharge planning, case management, health coaching, and long-term care initiatives such as memory care or hospice & palliative medicine programs.

Experience

• Proven experience working in fast-paced environments such as emergency rooms, trauma centers (Level I & II), or hospital medicine units with a focus on acute care and critical response procedures.
• Demonstrated proficiency with advanced nursing skills including catheterization, ostomy care, dialysis support, tube feeding management, and infection control practices.
• Strong background in medical-surgical nursing with familiarity in ICD coding (ICD-9 & ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures, and medical imaging techniques.
• Experience working with EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with NCQA standards and Medicare/Medicaid documentation requirements is preferred.
• Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases; experience managing patients in home care or community settings is advantageous.
• Ability to handle complex cases involving trauma medicine, infectious disease care, pain management strategies—including acute pain management—and behavioral health support.
• Prior roles may include nursing home experience or assisted living environments; experience working with individuals with disabilities or those requiring long-term memory or dementia care is highly valued.

Pay: $45.00 - $50.00 per hour
