Registered Nurse

About the Position

Covenant is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and dependable Infusion Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate is committed to providing safe, high-quality patient care and understands the importance of teamwork, communication, and professionalism in a clinical setting.

The Infusion Nurse will be responsible for administering infusion therapies, monitoring patients throughout treatment, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and ensuring compliance with medication safety and hazardous drug handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed infusion therapies, injectable medications, and other treatments within the nurse's scope of practice and applicable licensure.
• Prepare for and assist with infusion treatments according to established protocols and provider orders.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after infusions for adverse reactions and complications.
• Recognize and respond appropriately to infusion reactions and other medical emergencies.
• Monitor vital signs and document patient assessments, medications, treatments, and responses to therapy.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Follow established procedures for safely handling, administering, and disposing of hazardous drugs, including chemotherapy medications when applicable.
• Consistently use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow applicable safety guidelines.
• Educate patients regarding their treatments, potential side effects, and post-infusion instructions.
• Coordinate with providers, medical assistants, pharmacy personnel, and billing staff to support efficient patient care and accurate treatment processing.
• Communicate professionally and promptly with coworkers regarding patient care, orders, documentation, and treatment concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe infusion area.
• Monitor medication and supply inventory and assist with ordering as needed.
• Follow practice policies, infection control standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Assist with triaging and other clinic duties as necessary.

Qualifications

• Current RN license.
• Previous infusion, oncology/chemotherapy, or ambulatory nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with IV access, infusion pumps, medication administration, and patient monitoring preferred.
• Knowledge of medication safety, infection prevention, and hazardous drug handling procedures.
• Strong assessment, organizational, and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation preferred.
• Relevant chemotherapy/biotherapy certification preferred.

Pay: From $35.00 per hour
