Registered Nurse - Flex Unit

Role Overview: A Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care in a mental health setting, assessing patient conditions, developing care plans, and documenting treatments. They promote a safe, therapeutic environment, collaborate with healthcare teams for admissions, transfers, and discharges, and engage with patients and families to address physical, psychosocial, and discharge planning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform nursing duties, including patient assessment and care documentation.
• Maintain safety standards and supervise direct care staff.
• Coordinate with departments for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Participate in interdisciplinary planning and contribute to department goals.
• Assist in staff orientation, program evaluation, and professional development.
• Provide education, serve as a role model, and participate in community outreach.
• Supervise patient care within budget constraints.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Illinois.
• Current CPR certification; CPI certification within 90 days of hire.
• Required to maintain confidentiality.
• Preferred psychiatric experience and knowledge of abnormal psychology.
