Schedule: Night Shift | 6:30 PM 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Shifts

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU/PCU) for a 13-week contract opportunity in Utica, New York. The RN will provide intermediate and progressive care to adult patients with complex neurological, cardiac, trauma, respiratory, and postoperative conditions.

The unit cares for patients with conditions including COPD, DKA, sepsis, myocardial infarction, cardiovascular stepdown, neurological conditions, and postoperative needs. Candidates must be comfortable caring for higher-acuity patients and floating to other appropriate units as required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor adult IMCU/PCU patients with neurological, cardiac, respiratory, trauma, and postoperative conditions.
• Provide nursing care for patients requiring temporary pacemakers, chest tubes, arterial lines, BiPAP, and chronic ventilator support.
• Administer medications and treatments while recognizing changes in patient condition and escalating care appropriately.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to coordinate individualized patient care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic and float to other appropriate clinical areas based on patient-care and staffing needs.

Requirements

• Active New York Registered Nurse (RN) License Required at Time of Submission.
• Minimum 2 Years of Recent IMCU/PCU Nursing Experience Required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certifications Required.
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification Required.
• Previous Travel Nursing Experience and Epic Experience Required; Ability to Work Night Shifts and Float as Needed Required.

The IMCU/PCU RN will provide skilled, responsive, and patient-centered nursing care while supporting safe outcomes for medically complex adult patients.
