Registered Nurse – Program Director & Instructor (PSW/HSW)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our college as a Program Director and Instructor for our NACC Personal Support Worker (PSW) and Home Support Worker (HSW) certificate programs.

The successful candidate will provide academic leadership and deliver high-quality instruction in accordance with NACC curriculum standards. This position includes classroom/theory instruction as well as periodic in-person supervision of labs and practicum activities.

Qualified Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs) with relevant NACC teaching experience may also be considered for part-time faculty positions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver and facilitate NACC-approved PSW and HSW curriculum.
• Provide engaging instruction to students in both theory and practical components.
• Prepare lessons, assessments, assignments, and other instructional materials.
• Evaluate student performance and provide constructive academic feedback.
• Supervise and support students during laboratory and practicum components.
• Maintain accurate attendance, academic, and student progress records.
• Support program administration and ensure curriculum delivery meets NACC and college requirements.
• Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students throughout their program.
• Participate in program planning, continuous improvement, and quality assurance activities.
• Collaborate with college administration and other faculty members to support successful student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) licence in Ontario.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional nursing experience preferred.
• Previous teaching experience with the NACC PSW and/or HSW curriculum strongly preferred.
• Experience teaching within a private career college, community college, or similar educational environment is an asset.
• Strong communication, presentation, leadership, and organizational skills.
• Ability to effectively teach and support students from diverse educational and professional backgrounds.

RPN candidates with relevant nursing and NACC curriculum teaching experience may be considered for part-time instructional positions.

Work Arrangement

The position may include a combination of online and in-person instruction, depending on program requirements. In-person attendance will be required periodically for laboratory instruction, practical training, meetings, and practicum-related responsibilities.

Candidates located within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) are preferred.
