What they need
Broome Regional Aboriginal Medical Service (BRAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service which has been caring for the Broome community for more than 40 years. BRAMS provides comprehensive, holistic, and culturally responsive primary health care and community services to Aboriginal people living in Broome.
In addition to primary health care, BRAMS is an approved aged care and NDIS provider and delivers a range of community services that support the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal people and their families. Services are designed to be person-centred, culturally safe, and responsive to the needs of individuals across the life course.
Our vision is Healthy People ~ Strong Community ~ Bright Future.
Our mission is to provide holistic and culturally responsive health and wellbeing services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. That means making our Mob healthy.
Our Model of Care reflects our collective commitment to delivering high-quality, comprehensive health care and promoting wellness for Aboriginal people. All BRAMS services are guided by this model, and all employees are expected to work in accordance with its principles. A visual of the Model of Care is shown below, highlighting its key features.
The Registered Nurse – Recall is responsible for managing the clinic recall and reminder system as part of the BRAMS multidisciplinary primary health care team. The role ensures that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers are identified, contacted, and supported to attend scheduled care, so that no consumer is lost to follow-up.
The role focuses on maintaining accurate recall and reminder data within MMEx, running recall reports, and coordinating follow-up across chronic disease reviews, 715 Aboriginal health checks, immunisations, cancer screening, care plan reviews, and pathology results. The position works closely with General Practitioners, Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Aboriginal Enrolled Nurses, and reception and clinical staff to ensure recalls are actioned and consumers receive timely, culturally safe care.
All care is delivered in line with the BRAMS Model of Care and Quality Care Framework, supporting care that is person-centred, connected, culturally responsive, right way and safe.
