The Opportunity:

Whittier Street Health Center is seeking part-time and full-time Registered Nurses to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care while collaborating with providers and interdisciplinary care teams to support the health and wellness of our diverse patient population. The Registered Nurse will assist with clinical assessments, care coordination, patient education, chronic disease management, and ensuring patients receive timely and appropriate care. We are looking for compassionate and dedicated nurses who are committed to delivering culturally responsive care, improving health outcomes, and supporting our mission of advancing health equity within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established clinical standards, policies, and procedures
• Perform patient assessments, obtain health histories, and identify patient care needs
• Administer medications, treatments, vaccines, and other clinical services as ordered by providers
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes in patient status to providers and care teams
• Provide patient education related to health conditions, medications, preventive care, and self-management strategies
• Support chronic disease management programs and care coordination efforts
• Triage patient calls and clinical concerns while providing appropriate guidance and follow-up
• Document patient care, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMR
• Float across departments (e.g., primary care, pediatrics, OB/GYN, and the aging clinic) as needed to support patient care across the health center.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (or higher) from an accredited U.S. program
• Active, unrestricted Massachusetts RN license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with hands-on skills verification
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in an ambulatory or outpatient setting
• Experience with EMR systems; Epic preferred
• Strong clinical, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to patient-centered care and working with diverse populations
