About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) House Supervisor for a 13-week contract in Arcata, California. The House Supervisor will provide nursing leadership and clinical oversight during the night shift while supporting safe patient care and hospital operations.

The RN must be comfortable assisting across multiple acute-care departments and may occasionally provide meal-break coverage for nurses in Medical-Surgical, Emergency Department, and Intensive Care Unit settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide night-shift nursing supervision and support hospital-wide clinical operations according to established policies and patient care standards.
• Coordinate nursing activities and assist clinical teams with staffing, patient care needs, and operational priorities during the assigned shift.
• Support communication and collaboration among nursing units, providers, and other healthcare professionals to promote continuity of care.
• Provide clinical assistance and leadership during changes in patient condition, urgent situations, and other hospital-wide nursing needs.
• Provide occasional meal-break coverage for Registered Nurses in Medical-Surgical, Emergency Department, and Intensive Care Unit settings as required.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 Years of Registered Nurse Experience Required; Nursing Leadership, Charge Nurse, or House Supervisor Experience Strongly Preferred.
• Current, Active California Registered Nurse License Required.
• Current BLS Certification Required.
• Current ACLS and PALS Certifications Required; NRP Certification Preferred.
• Negative TB Screening Completed Within 12 Months of the Contract Start Date Required; Ability to Work Night Shifts and Required Holiday Coverage Required.
