What You’ll Do

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care
• Provide compassionate care to a primarily adult inpatient population
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in clinical needs
• Administer medications and treatments according to established standards
• Educate patients and families throughout the care experience
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams
• Promote quality, safety, and positive patient outcomes

What You’ll Need

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
• Clinical competence in caring for the patient population served by the department
• Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or a multistate nursing license from a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers—or an approved equivalent—within 90 days of hire
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within one year of hire
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

BSN Education Requirement

Upon hire, a non-BSN nurse with less than one year of licensed RN experience must:

• Enroll in a BSN or higher nursing degree program
• Be accepted into a program within 15 months of hire
• Complete the degree within five years of enrollment—or six years for an MSN, DNP, or PhD in Nursing
