Registered Nurse Supervisor

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. In this vital role, you will oversee clinical operations, supervise nursing staff, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and promote high standards of patient care. Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage nursing staff to ensure delivery of exceptional patient care across all departments.
• Oversee patient assessments, medical documentation, and adherence to nursing policies in compliance with state healthcare regulations and HIPAA standards.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary team efforts including case management, discharge planning, and utilization review to optimize patient outcomes.
• Ensure proper medication administration, IV infusion procedures, catheter care, and sterile techniques are followed according to best practices.
• Maintain accurate medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Cerner or Epic; ensure documentation meets regulatory standards.
• Conduct clinical evaluations including vital signs, physical examinations, diagnostic evaluations, and tube feeding management.
• Lead quality improvement initiatives by monitoring compliance with long-term care regulations and NCQA standards while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Skills

• Extensive experience working with diverse patient populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, neonatal, behavioral health, and individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia care needs.
• Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; strong medical documentation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of critical care environments including ICU, Level I & II Trauma Centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and acute care settings.
• Skilled in advanced clinical procedures such as ventilator management, cardiac catheterization support, spinal tap procedures, phlebotomy, suturing, and catheterization.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for procedures and DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) classifications.
• Proven leadership abilities in managing teams within hospital medicine or long-term care facilities; excellent managerial communication skills.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and state healthcare laws; experience in managing medical records and ensuring policy compliance.
• Ability to perform complex patient assessments including physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations; adept at triage and emergency response protocols.
• Knowledge of infection control practices along with aseptic techniques; experience working in sterile processing environments when applicable.
