Job Overview

Tribe Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and dependable RN or LPN to support adults receiving treatment for substance use disorders. The nurse works with medical providers and the treatment team to monitor health concerns, support medication safety, and help clients participate safely in treatment.

Responsibilities are assigned according to the employee’s nursing license. LPNs practice under required direction and supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain vital signs and collect information about medications, allergies, symptoms, and health history.
• Monitor for intoxication, withdrawal, medication side effects, and other health changes.
• Promptly report concerns to the appropriate medical provider and follow emergency procedures.
• Administer medications and provide nursing care as ordered and permitted by the employee’s license.
• Support medication reconciliation and report medication discrepancies.
• Provide or reinforce education about medication safety, overdose prevention, naloxone, and general health.
• Collect specimens when ordered, trained, and authorized.
• Coordinate medical appointments, laboratory testing, and referrals.
• Participate in treatment team meetings and discharge planning.
• Complete accurate, timely nursing documentation.
• Protect client privacy and follow infection prevention and medication storage procedures.

RN Responsibilities

• Complete nursing assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans.
• Provide nursing direction, delegation, and supervision when assigned and permitted.

LPN Responsibilities

• Collect and report nursing information.
• Provide assigned nursing care under appropriate direction.
• Reinforce teaching and promptly report changes in the client’s condition.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia nursing license or valid multistate privilege to practice in Virginia.
• Current CPR/BLS certification appropriate to assigned duties.
• Experience in substance use treatment, behavioral health, or outpatient care is preferred.
• Strong communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to complete required background checks, health screenings, and agency training.

• Professional attire or scrubs appropriate for nursing duties.
