Registered Nursing Position

About the role

Full-time, permanent position with a rotating roster (including weekends and shift work as rostered). Deliver safe, person-centred nursing care across rest home and hospital-level residents.

Key responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive nursing assessments and develop, review and evaluate individualised care plans
• Lead and oversee medication management, including administration, reconciliation and safe practice
• Assess and manage wounds, working alongside GPs, nurse specialists and allied health as needed
• Provide clinical leadership, direction and support to carers on shift
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in electronic clinical record system
• Communicate clearly and warmly with residents, whānau, GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team
• Contribute to quality improvement, audits and the ongoing wellbeing of residents

About you

• A current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
• Eligibility to work in New Zealand immediately — New Zealand citizenship, residency, or a valid current work visa
• Sound knowledge of geriatric and aged residential care
• Demonstrated competence in wound care management and medication management
• Confidence in nursing assessment, care planning and evaluation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to work well as part of a team, and to lead a team when required
• Competence and confidence using electronic clinical note and documentation systems
• A commitment to ongoing professional development, and to attending all in-services as required
• A current first aid certificate is an advantage, though first aid training is provided as part of annual training programme
