Registered Pharmacist

The Pharmacist is responsible for the safe dispensing of medicines, proper medication counselling, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations of the Food and Drug Administration and the Professional Regulation Commission. The Pharmacist supports efficient outpatient clinic operations by ensuring accurate prescription processing, proper medication storage, and high standards of patient care and safety.

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Pharmacy Operations

• Dispense prescription medicines accurately and efficiently in accordance with physician instructions and applicable laws.
• Review prescriptions for completeness, appropriateness, dosage accuracy, and possible drug interactions.
• Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and documentation of dispensed medicines.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient medication records and prescription information.
• Monitor expiry dates and ensure proper stock rotation using FEFO/FIFO principles.
• Ensure proper storage conditions for medicines and regulated products.

Patient Care and Counseling

• Provide medication counseling to patients regarding dosage, administration, precautions, possible side effects, and storage.
• Address patient inquiries regarding medicines and over-the-counter products.
• Promote safe and rational use of medications.
• Coordinate with physicians and clinic staff regarding prescription clarifications when necessary.

Inventory and Supply Management

• Monitor pharmacy inventory levels and prepare replenishment requests.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and reconciliation.
• Maintain accurate records of controlled and regulated medicines.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding deliveries, shortages, and product concerns.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with FDA regulations, pharmacy laws, and clinic policies.
• Maintain required pharmacy licenses, permits, and documentation.
• Assist during regulatory inspections and audits.
• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety protocols within the pharmacy area.

Administrative Functions

• Prepare pharmacy-related reports as required by management.
• Support implementation of clinic operational improvements and cost-control initiatives.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuing professional development activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Licensed Pharmacist with valid PRC License.
• Preferably with experience in outpatient clinic, retail pharmacy, or healthcare setting.
• Knowledgeable in FDA regulations, drug dispensing standards, and inventory management.
• Proficient in pharmacy systems and basic computer applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Customer-service oriented and professional.
