Registered Plumber - Leading Hand

Registered Plumbing Leading Hand | Commercial Maintenance | $40–$45/hr

We are looking for an experienced Registered Plumbing Leading Hand to join our client's team on a long-term maintenance contract within a large, live commercial building.

This is a 50/50 hands-on and project coordination role, ideal for a plumber who is confident leading a team while also managing the planning, scheduling and delivery of commercial works.

The Role:
You will work closely with the maintenance department, client representatives and senior management, while overseeing a team of exempt plumbers. The role is working on a live site with a large focus on not impacting these live services, doing so could be extremely disruptive to an important service and costly. 

Key responsibilities:

• Supervising and overseeing exempt plumbers
• Hands-on commercial plumbing and pipe fitting
• Planning, scheduling and coordinating works
• Scoping jobs and managing works from start to finish
• Liaising directly with clients, stakeholders and senior management
• Planning and coordinating works around live and critical building services
• Scoping and managing potential shutdowns, including liaising with client workers
• Procuring parts, materials and equipment
• Monitoring and controlling costs
• Maintaining accurate documentation and job records
• Ensuring works are completed safely without impacting live services

About You:

• NZ Registered Plumber – essential
• Certifying Plumber – preferred
• Strong commercial plumbing experience
• Proven pipe fitting experience
• Previous leading hand or supervisory experience
• Strong communication, documentation and organisational skills
• Confident dealing directly with clients and senior stakeholders
• Ability to schedule, coordinate and manage multiple works
• Strong understanding of working safely around live services
• A proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of projects

• $40–$45 per hour, depending on experience
• 6:30am – 3:30pm standard hours
