Registered Practical Nurse (Part-time)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-time Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will ensure alignment with all relevant regulations and/or legislative requirements, organizational and strategic initiatives while driving a positive work culture

Responsibilities

• Promotes a resident -centered approach that engages residents, family members and employees to provide care that meets the individual needs of each resident.
• Supports initiatives to improve resident and employee satisfaction
• Promotes and ensures the provision of resident focused care and provides cognitive,emotional, spiritual and social support for each resident
• Participates as a member for assigned committees as required
• Assists with meal service as required
• Completes all required documentation and reports as required
• Follows the plan of care, observes and reports any substantial findings and or changes in behaviour, physical condition and/or food /fluid intake
• Works in accordance with established job routines and schedules, as required
• Assists with residents admissions/transfers, departures
• Delivers nursing, personal care and scheduled and non-scheduled assessments of residents in accordance with policies and procedures, CNO standards and scope of practice
• Assists PSW's with the execution of their duties, as required
• Focuses on supporting residents with responsive behaviours associated with dementia, mental health, substance abuse and neurological conditions
• Assists with training staff on relational skills to de-escalate situations, provide person centered care and assists in root cause analysis in resident expressive behaviours
• Provides education, coaching and mentoring for the development of new staff
• Supports clinical care programs
• Ensures compliance
• Performs other duties as assigned

Skills/Qualifications

• Proven experience in nursing home, hospital, or acute care settings with a strong understanding of LTC
• Current registration and a member in good standing as an RPN with the CNO
• Completion of GPA, U-first , PIECES and dementia care training or willingness to comlete
• Knowledge of BSO and best practices and procedures

Pay: From $33.47 per hour

Expected hours: 22.5 per week
