Registered Practical Nurse (RPN)

Here at Vision Nursing and Rest Home we are a family oriented and progressive organization that prioritizes the care of our residents and the happiness of our staff first.

We are currently looking for a few individuals to join our family as a Registered Practical Nurse. Working in collaboration with and reporting to both the Charge Nurse and Nurse Manager directly, the RPN is responsible for ensuring proper care is being provided on their respected home unit.

Some of the Major Duties Include:

1. Uses nursing process to complete assessments and develop plan of care, including all documentation as outlined in policy and CNO standard
2. Maintains current records on all residents in compliance with home policies and current legislation
3. Lead the shift team using collaboration, communication and use of strategies that encourage positive resident outcomes
4. Prepares and participates in Individual Care Plan development
5. Ensures that nursing measures that are identified through nursing assessment are addressed are updated or added to the resident care plan and/or EMAR
6. Completes rounds and processes orders according to pharmacy directives. Notifies POA of any change or updates
7. Other duties as assigned

Some of the many assets we would love for you to bring to our home:

1. Proof of current registration of competency with the College of Nurses of Ontario(completed annually)
2. Maintain and apply current knowledge and skills of nursing science and leadership
3. Maintain knowledge of services provided by Community agencies and programs
4. Interest and/or experience in Gerontological Nursing and Long Term Care
5. Adept at computer skills with knowledge and experience in basic applications
6. Proficient in CPR
