Registered Process Controller / Water Treatment Plant Operator

We are recruiting registered Process Controllers to support water treatment works operations, compliance, and capacity-building initiatives for municipalities, water boards, and the Department of Water and Sanitation. These roles are essential for regulatory compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water treatment processes (coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection).
• Conduct routine sampling, testing, and process adjustments to meet quality standards.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, records, and compliance documentation (Blue Drop aligned).
• Identify and report process deviations, equipment faults, and safety issues.
• Support training and skills transfer to municipal operators where required.Assist with plant optimisation, chemical dosing, and energy efficiency initiatives.
• Requirements
• National Certificate or Diploma in Water Treatment / Process Control / Chemical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Valid registration as a Process Controller with the relevant professional body (as required by DWS Regulation 3630).
• Minimum 3–5 years’ practical experience at a water or wastewater treatment works.
• Sound knowledge of water quality standards, chemical handling, and plant safety.
• Ability to work shifts and respond to operational emergencies.
• Valid driver’s licence.

Advantageous

· Experience at bulk water treatment works or municipal plants.

· Additional certificates in first aid, confined space, or chemical handling.

Pay: R40 000,00 - R50 000,00 per month

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Gauteng
