Registered Technologist - X-Ray

Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs x-rays and operates equipment in the department/portably and in the operating room
• Completes imaging requests on ED/IP/OP patients in a timely, safe and professional manner
• Coordinates daily work schedule, prioritizes emergency/add-on cases as required
• Perform a variety of diagnostic procedures in the department, in accordance with applicable legislation, clinical standards and departmental procedures
• Complies with safe radiation practices at all times.
• Responsible for care of patients within the department. Collects records and verifies patient history and information. Obtains informed consent when required
• Reports to senior technologists and manager
• Participates in the orientation of new staff and students as directed
• Assists radiology residents and fellows within the division as required
• Performs required care and maintenance of equipment as required.
• Maintains adequate records and documentation according to departmental policy and procedures and exams

Qualifications/Skills

• CMRTO Registration required
• CAMRT Registration preferred
• Recent related technologist experience required
• Related technologist experience in a Hospital environment preferred
• Demonstrates ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
• Demonstrates initiative and comfort with decision making
• Demonstrates an ability to be flexible in order to respond to changing and emergent situations
• Demonstrates critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Able to perform in a high stress and busy environment
