Registered Veterinary Technician

Ohana Pet Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team and provide dedicated support for surgery, anesthesia, and dental procedures.

This is an excellent opportunity for a technician who wants to fully utilize their skillset with autonomy, trust, and support in a fast-paced, collaborative general practice environment. From induction through recovery, you will play a critical role in delivering safe, efficient, high-quality patient care alongside a veterinary team that values skilled technicians.

In this position, you will take an active role in:

• Coordinating surgical and dental procedure schedules
• Calculating and preparing anesthetic medications and drug dosages
• Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia patients
• Assisting veterinarians during surgical procedures
• Performing dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
• Monitoring patient recovery and ongoing procedural care
• Guiding clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassion

Schedule and compensation:

• Compensation:$24 - $32 per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a flexible, full-time position, with either a 5/8, or a 4/10 schedule and availability needed Monday-Saturday.

Minimum qualifications and skill set:

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Active and good-standingRegistered Veterinary Technician in the state of California******
• Proficiency in the following skills:
  • Patient assessment, nursing care, and monitoring
  • Anesthetic induction, monitoring, and recovery
  • Surgical assistance and aseptic technique
  • Dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
  • Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement
  • Radiology positioning and safety protocols
  • Client education and communication
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong critical thinking and attention to detail
  • Effective teamwork and professional communication skills
  • Commitment to high-quality patient care and continuous learning

**Recent graduates pending VTNE testing and licensure, or out-of-state license-holders who are eligible to transfer a license, are also encouraged to apply
