Registered Veterinary Technician

Our Small Animal General Practice is 15 minutes North of Raleigh / Northeast of Durham. We are currently searching for Full Time Registered Veterinary Technician(s) to grow our practice - Our current long term (8 years) RVT is stepping away from vet-med to spend time with her young family.

We value our RVTs and utilize them to be our primary care interface for surgery and dental patients, oversee hospitalized patient care, and manage patient flow throughout the hospital day. We aim for them to see our follow-ups as staff appointments for post surgery / dental procedure follow-ups, chronic condition / medication screening tests, follow up / progress on routine cases (such as ears or skin) etc.

We do expect our RVTs to be cross trained to work throughout the practice to be able to jump in and expedite patent care and customer services as needed - we utilize Veterinary Assistants to support our RVTs flexibility and functionally.

We are a professional 2 doctor practice in a small town atmosphere. We practice modern medicine and frequently collaborate on extensive surgical and medical cases with the "Big City" referral centers at NCSU Veterinary School, VSH/BluePearl and TVRH as needed.

Management has a standing "No Drama" policy for staff and clients. Our practice presents a clean, organized and professional appearance to our clients, and in return we insist we are treated as professionals by our clientele - we terminate client relationships for the ridiculous behaviors that are put up with elsewhere.

Our practice hours are Mon. thru Fri. 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. No weekend hours or duties. We rarely stay late. Generally, our staff work a stable / set 4 full days per week with 1 weekday off - except during another employee’s vacation time. As a matter of management expectations and routine, our staff are out the door before 5:45 PM. We do not Board / Kennel animals.

We transfer end of day emergencies and refer overnight emergencies to BluePearl, Triangle Veterinary Referral Hospital or NCSU.

Compensation includes a Competitive Hourly Wage, Quarterly Performance Bonuses, Paid Time Off, Health / Vision / Dental Insurance thru BCBS NC, NC State License Reimbursement, Continuing Education requirements reimbursement/stipend, Discounted Veterinary Care and other items.
